How Jeremiah 10:5 could be translated (in order to make it rhyme): 

"Like a scarecrow in a melon patch, an idol cannot talk;

It must be carried everywhere - the poor thing cannot walk.

Why should I fear a block of wood?

It can't do harm, and won't do good!"
